Gary W. Gray Trucking Inc. is located on Route 46, Delaware, NJ overlooking the scenic Delaware Water Gap. Gary started the trucking company in 1969 on property where his parents had previously operated a coal business. Trucking got into his blood at an early age, as he delivered loads of coal to customers for his dad while he was still in high school.
In the early 1970's Gary purchased a couple of trucks and acquired a few customers. Our Company grew steadily as we increased our customer base with quality companies. Perhaps the best testament to our reputation is evidenced by long term mutually beneficial customer relationships developed and sustained over many years.
In the late 1970's we started specializing in the transportation of waste. All of our employees are highly trained and professional. We are permitted to transport all types of hazardous and non hazardous wastes. Our environmental record is unblemished. We have never been cited for any environmental violation from any regulatory body or government. Although our primary radius of operation is the northeast area of the country, we are permitted and do service areas as far south as Florida and as far west as Texas.
From 1970 to today we have grown from a couple of tractors and trailers to a fleet of over 400 vehicles plus more than 400 containers. All tractors are less than 4 years of age and most trailers are 5 years old or newer. We are big enough to respond to all our customers various and ever changing needs and at the same time small enough to give each customer specialized attention.
In the beginning Gary wore many hats, from sales to maintenance to truck driver. Today he has the title of CEO, overseeing the entire operation with special attention to customer satisfaction. We pride ourselves in being a privately owned, family run business. Carol, Gary's wife, whose background is accounting and finance is the CFO. Gary's son Scott, daughters Wendy and Tracey are all active in the business on a day to day basis.
In addition, Gary's two brothers drive for the company. Key management positions are held by employees who we consider our friends also. Their years of service for us range from eleven to more than 25 years. Most of our drivers have been with us, on average, in excess of 8 years.
Our Formula for success has served us well: every customer, no matter how big or small is valuable to us and worthy of specialized service. Every employee is considered to be a valuable asset, whose input of ideas, thoughts and opinions are worthy of our attention.
